Village Volunteer Corps

The Village Volunteer Corps is open to anyone who wants to make a difference in our community. Give a neighbor a ride, lend a hand around the house, or simply stop by for a visit. There are many ways to help, and every act of neighborly support makes a difference.

Ways to Help

Give the kind of time you have

Some volunteers drive. Some fix a leaky faucet or mow a lawn. Some just show up for coffee. Whatever you are good at, there is a neighbor who could use it.

Give someone a ride

Doctors appointments, errands, and social visits are one of our biggest volunteer needs.

Help around the house

Yard work, light repairs, moving furniture, and other tasks that are harder to manage alone.

Sort out tech trouble

A confusing phone update or a printer that will not connect. A little patience goes a long way.

Pay a friendly visit

A regular phone call or a front porch chat can be the best part of someones week.

Run errands or help at events

Grocery pickups, prescription runs, or lending a hand at an SVP gathering.

Lend office support

Behind the scenes help with paperwork, calls, or projects that keep the Hub running smoothly.

Who We Are Looking For

You do not need to be a member to join

Adults of any age who want to support older neighbors are welcome, including college students, working professionals, retirees, and anyone with a bit of time and a good heart.

Able to commit to at least 2 requests a month

Drivers with a valid license and reliable vehicle are especially needed

Comfortable with light physical tasks like yard work or moving furniture

Patient, friendly, and reliable. That is what matters most.

Willing to complete a background check, the same as all our volunteers

A Hub Team member reaches out within a few days to talk through how you would like to help.

Two references and a background check, the same steps every SVP volunteer completes.

Orientation and your first match

A short orientation gets you ready, then you are matched with your first neighbor to help.
