MEMBER SERVICES

One of the central benefits of Village membership is having access to practical support services provided by other Village member-volunteers. Village services (link to Services page with examples) can supplement or take the place of friend or family assistance and are precursor to professional home care assistance.

Wondering how the annual membership fee compares to paying for some of the support services Village members provide to one another as part of their membership? Below are some examples of needs that could be filled by your Village support network (included as part of your membership dues) and what they would cost if you had to pay for them from outside sources:

Type of Support

Example

Sample cost
in local market

Transportation

A one-way Uber ride visit a spouse in rehab or go to a doctor’s appointment in another Seacoast community

$20 one way (average)

Light Yard Work

Three hours of your teenage neighbor’s time to do seasonal yard and garden clean up.

$60 per visit

Domestic Support
& Errands

Minimum three-hour commitment from a home care agency caregiver to help with meal prep, light housework or run errands like prescription pick up or grocery shopping.

$90 per visit

It’s not hard to imagine how with one fall on the ice or one minor medical procedure your Village membership would have paid for itself.
