Each year, millions of older adults fall victim to some type of financial fraud including romance, lottery, and sweepstakes scams—just to name a few, which causes them to lose billions of dollars. The Portsmouth police department provides education to help prevent this from happening, and/or encourage reporting if someone has been scammed. The presentation will cover the following topics: Identifying Scams, Avoiding Scams, Financial Exploitation, and Reporting-followed by a question/answer segment.
