Help Each Other Out.
To have a strong village, we stand together to build a community we can rely on. At the Seacoast Village Project, we are all members. Some of us volunteer to support their fellow Village members and the Village organization.
Village volunteers fall into three categories: Village Builders, Program Support Volunteers and Direct Service Volunteers (which include drivers).
The strength of our Village depends on having engaged and equal relationships with each other. Our Village runs on volunteers who:
Are part of a team: there's always back up if your schedule changes and you are unable to fulfill your volunteer commitment.
Set their own schedule and follow their interests: Volunteers decide how much and in what way they want to help. You can always decline an opportunity–either because it doesn’t fit your schedule or you don’t feel comfortable with the task.
Have clear boundaries: Village Volunteers can drive, run errands, and help with yard work. But we know that licensed professionals are better suited to filling medication boxes, providing personal care or helping people who need full assistance to transfer in and out of chairs and wheelchairs.
Current volunteer opportunities:
Join our new Member Services Team! Work the Member Service Manager to welcome and orient new members once their application has been completed and received; and respond to ongoing member questions or inquires; and help to maintain member files.
Looking for volunteers from each cluster area to help with member outreach and respond to member questions.
Help us expand our preferred provider database! Work includes making calls to recommended vendors, completing datasheets and entering information into our database program.
Member Service Team is looking for two people to help with telephone outreach (responding to calls from members and from people who are interested in joining), and people to help with errands in all three service areas (Portsmouth, Exeter and Dover areas).
Be part of developing our 2021 calendar of programs and events by joining the Program & Events Team! This team plans the fun part of our village activities - music, happy hours, outings, community meet-ups. Time commitment includes monthly (by zoom right now), with phone and e-mail coordination between meetings.
Couriers wanted to deliver documents and supplies to Village members (e.g. membership materials to new members, newsletters and notice to active members who aren't online) and distribute newsletters and other Village informational materials to local community agencies.
