Curious about Geocaching and want to know more about it so you can give it a try?
Join us via Zoom to discover what this super fun hobby/sport/adventure/obsession is all about. You will learn how to find geocaches hidden in your area and what to do once you find one!
During this Zoom session we will cover:
- Brief history of geocaching
- Explanation of cache types and useful terms
- Introduction to GPS and satellite technology
- The cache page at Geocaching.com and setting up your own geocaching account
- How to select a cache to find in your area and how to log it once you find it
- Trackable travel bugs and geocoins – what are they and what to do with them
Following this online session, Patty Evans will be hosting an official Geocaching event nearby, with social distancing and masks, of course, where we can meet up and practice our newly learned skills! There are two geocaches hidden in this location… one of them is mine! Once you find them, you will be able to sign the logs to show you found them and then enter your finds on your very own cache page online!
